    BIOGRAPHY

    Morgan Thompson has been a dancer her whole life. She was born in Torrington, Connecticut, and then moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where she grew up.  She started dancing with Diane’s Dance Studio in Greenville, South Carolina, when she was 3. She was taught ballet and tap. She then switched studios to Greenville Ballet under the instruction of Merry and Andrew Kuharsky. She started there at age five and was taught classical ballet. She started performing in the annual Nutcracker performances and Spring recitals held at Furman University, which she did for 12 years. As she got older, she started taking modern dance classes with Rebecca Lee and started her journey on pointe as well. She continued her studies there up until age 18. In the summer going into her first year of high school, she attended Florida State University’s 3-week summer intensive. While there, she took classes in Modern (various techniques), Ballet, Pointe, Musical Theatre, West African, Creole Folk, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Brazzilian Hip Hop. While training at Greenville Ballet, she also started to attend the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, South Carolina. She was under the instruction of Gina Buntz, who taught her the Graham technique, and Rebecca Lee, who taught her ballet. During her four years there, she attended the National High School Dance Festival at Point Park University in 2019 and the Regional High School Dance Festival in Vancouver, Washington, in 2022. Also, she explored the process of choreographing pieces for performances and solos for herself. In 2021, she attended Point Park University’s 6 week summer intensive. While there, she studied various dance styles such as Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre. All these experiences accumulated into her wanting to apply to The Boston Conservatory at Berklee and being accepted later. While under the instruction of Tommy Neblett, she worked with various choreographers, such as Chung Fu Chang, Alyssa Cardone, and Andrew Skeels. Also, she landed a professional job with FEVER during her junior year.
